What is the relationship between the Ronald McDonald House and the McDonald’s company? |

McDonald’s is one of our major donors supporting our activities, and is a separate entity from the Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan foundation that operates the Houses.
McDonald’s provides support in many various forms such as hosting donation boxes in all restaurants, implementing activities to increase awareness, and making donations as a corporate sponsor. |

How do you use the monetary donations made to the donation boxes in McDonald’s restaurants? |

All of the donations received are used as funds for constructing and operating the Houses. |
|
|
Why the families can stay at the house by 1,000yen? |
|
|
A large number of companies and individuals are supporting the Houses through their donations and fundraising. The Houses are also supported by the volunteers from the community. |

I would like a new House to be constructed in my area. What should I do? |
|
|
The following conditions apply to the construction of Houses. Please directly contact RMHC Japan after reading these conditions.
1. The entity should be a hospital that treats children and has a large percentage of patients from distant locations that require a place to stay
2. The request should be the decision of the entire hospital, rather than the individual request of a physician or relevant party
3. The site for House construction should be prepared, and provided free of charge
4. Construction costs can be shouldered by both RMHC Japan and the hospital or local government, rather than RMHC Japan shouldering the entire cost |

What kind of services do volunteers provide? |
|
|
Volunteers are asked to perform a variety of tasks including answering telephone calls, cleaning common spaces, handling the check-in and check-out process, and making beds. Some volunteers also provide specialized skills (hair cuts, reflexology, gardening & garden care). |

Yes. If you would like to tour a House, please contact the House directly. |

How do I apply for grant funding? |
|
|
The details are announced on the website around June to August every year. |
