Baseball player, Iwakuma’s visits in RMH Sendai

January 14, 2011

In a follow-up of last year’s visit, Rakuten Golden Eagles baseball pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma visited the RMH Sendai on Wednesday, December 22.
As the visit was made before Christmas, pitcher Iwakuma helped with the Christmas decorations together with 18 children who had used the House before. He also handed out Christmas presents after they finished decorating the Christmas tree! All of the children received a copy of the “Iwakuma-kuma to kizuna no ehon” (Picture book of Iwakuma bear and his emotional bonds) original picture book created by his wife Madoka and child Uta as a gift to cheer him on.
The children were thrilled with his short visit before Christmas, and had the chance to talk to pitcher Iwakuma, receive autographs, and take pictures together. At the end of his visit, pitcher Iwakuma said, “I hope that more and more Houses are built. I will visit again next year.”
