Ronald McDonald House Nagoya’s Opening Ceremony

December 13, 2013

On Wednesday, November 27, RMH Nagoya celebrated its opening under a clear blue sky.

The opening ceremony was attended by 57 people and 11 participants cut the ribbon.

Aichi Prefectural Governor Omura performed Kagamibiraki (opening a sake barrel by breaking its lid with a wooden hammer at a feast) at the celebration party and grandly celebrated the opening of the House with 250 participants.

Dr. Seiichi Matsuo as a promoter and many members of Nagoya University Hospital played central roles in establishing the RMH Nagoya Fundraising Committee. The committee raised 168 billion and held a ceremony to present the fund to RMHC.  We truly appreciate their support.

Here is a comment from Dr. Naoki Ishiguro, Director of Nagoya University Hospital,:

“Patients need both mental and physical care. While hospitals can provide physical care, cooperation of patients’ families is essential for mental care. I am really grateful for the completion of the RMH Nagoya which will take care of these families.”

We will make daily efforts to inform as many people as possible about the House to support families who support their children suffering diseases.
